Echinacea, a plant with beautiful purple coneflowers.
Warning: Some may be allergic or sensitive to echinacea, in which case it may cause this herb to trigger anaphylaxis, asthma, or a rash. This reaction may be more severe in children, so some regulatory organizations have recommended not giving echinacea to children under 12. Echinacea may not be safe for people with autoimmune disorders as it may worsen the symptoms of those diseases. Not enough research has been done to confirm that echinacea is safe for pregnant or nursing mothers.
