How much does shipping cost?

How much do I need to order to get free shipping?
Order $50 to get free shipping. This excludes local sales tax.
What shipping services does Little Woods Herbal Use?
All orders shipped by USPS. Though for larger orders, FedEx may be used instead. This allows us to get orders out the door quickly, offer flat rate shipping on all orders over $50, and provide you with a tracking number and insurance on all orders no matter how small.
How long does it take for orders to be shipped?
All orders placed before 2:00pm Central Time are typically processed and shipped within 2 business days, though major holidays may delay us a little.*
*Exclusions to this timeframe include Canadian orders, orders placed on Friday through Sunday, custom orders, orders for Puerto Rico and APO addresses, large bulk orders, and orders placed prior to and during major US holidays.
How long will it take my order to arrive?
Depending on your USPS region, generally takes 2-3 days to arrive. With processing time, it takes 3-5 business days for your order to get to your door.
Does Little Woods Herbal ship beyond the United States?
Because of complex custom laws regarding the importing of plant matter and seeds in particular, Little Woods Herbal does not currently ship outside of the continental United States of America.
Do you accept check?
Yes, at checkout simply select "check" as payment type. You will be directed to send in your payment 136 Main Street, Ames, Iowa 50010. Your order will be held until payment is received and your check clears. Approximately 3 business days from receipt.
Do you accept Paypal?
Not at this time, though we are planning on adding it in future updates to the site.
How do I know my credit card information is secure?
Magic. Seriously though, we have an up to date security cert so you know your information is secure and properly encrypted. We also use Stripe, a payment gateway, to authorize your card. We never store your card information beyond your purchase.
Are the packages food-safe and bpa free?
All herbs and tea are packaged in fda approved food-safe bpa free zip top resealable bags for your convenience.
How are orders packaged?
If you select 1oz as your quantity and order four of them, it will be packaged in four 1oz bags. Order the 4oz quantity to save on cost and help out the environment by saving bags.
How do I cancel my order?
If for whatever reason you need to cancel your order, email us immediately. Order cancellations must be requested same business day the order was placed by 10am central time.
Do you accept returns?
Only on unopened orders. If your order has already been shipped, send us an email with your request and when the package shows up, Do Not Open the package, mark return to sender and drop it back in the mail.
If the package has been opened, there is no way we can guarantee the product has not been tampered with so we cannot accept returns of opened packages (meaning the box it was shipped in).
In the precaution tab, what does Class mean?
In response to the Dietary Supplement and Health Act, the American Herbal Products Association got together and released classification standards for most known botanical ingredients sold in North America. They published the details of their studies in the American Herbal Products Association's Botanical Safety Handbook.
We added the class (ie Class 1, Class 2d, etc) to the Precautions tab of any herbs that has a class noted in the Herbal Medicine Handbook. It's meaning is also reflected in the italicized Warning right under the price.
There are four class groups as follows:
- Class 1: No restrictions to it's use.
- Class 2: Some restrictions.
- Class 2a: External use only
- Class 2b: Not to be used during pregnancy.
- Class 2c: Not to be used during lactation.
- Class 2d: Other specific contraindications.
- Class3: Use only under expert supervision.
- Class 4: Insufficient data for classification.
I see c/s listed next to a lot of herbs, what does that mean?
c/s means "cut" and "sifted" and refers to the herb's processing. It's been run through blades that chop it up pretty fine, then sorted though screens that allow it to be fairly uniform.
