Heart Shaped Rose Dark Tea

Dark tea, rose petals

$2.00

This Dark tea from Hunan Province, China, is medium to full-bodied and smooth with a delicious dusty rose flavor and aroma. This compressed dark tea piece was made in Anhua County, Hunan Province, China, in 2016 by a couple who owns a local tea company. Comes in approximately 5 gram pressed tea pieces.

Smooth and subtly sweet, this scented dark tea offers an exceptionally soft cup with gentle notes of rose. The floral character leans confectionary—more candied than perfumed—and is beautifully integrated into the tea’s mellow body. Each heart is 3–4 grams of compressed tea, perfect for a single session.

This lot was produced in the summer of 2024 by Mr. Duan Jianqun in Anhua County, Hunan Province. The base tea is made from the Yuntai Daye cultivar, a large-leaf varietal from Yuntai mountain—an unusual choice that contributes to the satin-smooth texture of this tea.

A Living Tea

Like all dark teas—including puer—the flavor of this tea evolves over time. Naturally occurring active micro-organisms in the leaf continue to act upon its aroma and taste, deepening and enriching the profile as it ages. Young dark teas (less than two years old) are already full of character, but many tea drinkers choose to store them for years to develop richer, more complex flavors.

Feel free to experiment with steeping and storage to discover the cup that suits you best. Whether you enjoy it fresh or aged, this tea offers a smooth, calming experience you’ll return to again and again.
