Beets are rich in antioxidants. Two tablespoons of beetroot powder are equivalent to two full-sized beets. Since beets have a high amount of natural sugars, the powder is slightly sweet. Professional bakers use beet root as coloring, and it is sometimes added into sauces and other products you might find at the grocery store, like salad dressing. You can add it into pasta sauce, smoothies, soups, juices, even pancakes and muffins if you want to add some antioxidants and/or a reddish color into those foods.
