Common Names: Elm, Slippery, Red Elm, Moose Elm, Indian Elm
The slippery elm tree, Ulmus rubra, has had many uses over the years for the people of North America. It is native to the eastern United States and southern Canada. Slippery elm bark has even been used by spitball pitchers, chewed to make their saliva more effective when pitching curveballs! It blends beautifully into teas, such as our Elderberry Green tea blend!
