Common Names: Common sage, Kitchen sage
Sage leaves have had many medicinal and culinary uses throughout the centuries, and it’s incredibly interesting to see the many uses of this herb. Ancient Greeks referred to the leaves of Salvia officiales, or common sage, as the “immortality herb” due to its uses in medicine at the time. Sage is also used widely as a culinary spice, often being paired with other essential herbs: parsley, rosemary, and thyme. Sage is a key ingredient of many spice blends at Little Woods Herbal, including our Italian Spice!
